Mieka Pauley - "Wreck" - Live from Mountain Stage
Earlier in the year, Mountain Stage staffers each picked a single performance to be featured as bonus content on the "best of" USB drives that are given away as pledge premiums. Associate Producer Jeff Shirley chose "Wreck" by singer-songwriter Mieka Pauley:
I have always appreciated songwriters that can paint a vivid character in three and a half minutes. Mieka shows off her ability to do that in "Wreck.” It does not take long to get to know the protagonist in this one. And as a listener, you have to decide for yourself if you sympathize, empathize, or despise her – Mieka doesn't make the choice for you. I like that. -Jeff Shirley
