First Watch: Seinabo Sey, 'Poetic'

The latest video from Swedish pop singer Seinabo Sey is a journey of hope and heartache told through a simple but brilliantly choreographed concept. "I've tried to make it more poetic," Seinabo sings as she walks through darkness toward a blinding light. "But it's only easy if you let it. I swear that you will never regret it." It's an emotional plea for reconciliation underscored by nothing more than light and shadow. By the end of the video, Seinabo emerges from the void and walks through the city streets, free.

"I wrote a song about unrequited love," Seinabo tells us via email. "[Director Gustav Johansson] chose to tell this story through light, the thing that you need the most in that situation."

"Poetic" is from Seinabo Sey's just-released, sophomore full-length, Pretend.
